Weekend DC Adventures

Spring in DC is lovely.   Flowers are blooming, the humidity isn't out of control yet and the city is buzzing with tourists.   I know most people complain about the tourists, but it usually just  makes me feel lucky that I can to live somewhere that most people have to travel to see.

image.jpegA friend was in town from NYC and asked if I had interest in going to the Hirshhorn Museum.   I debated either metroing or driving into the city, and I finally decided I would drive.   Leaving myself plenty of time, I got in my car and drove in and it took me absolutely no time to drive there and get a parking spot.   With extra time on my hands, I grabbed coffee at Starbucks and sat in the gardens on the museum and enjoyed the beautiful day!

20 Something Sleepover

Who said you weren't allowed to continue having sleepovers once get pass your preteen/teenage years?   Last night, one of my BFFs husband was out of town and she asked if I wanted to come over for a sleepover... and cooking and eating of course!   I jumped at the excuse to hang out and planned to go over after work.    Our plan was to work out, cook a few dinners that we could freeze and just hangout!

After work, I drove to her house and we worked out at the gym apartment.   We did the "Buff Bride Workout" (a gift that was given to get before her wedding  -- over a year ago!)  and I can definitely feel it in my arms today!

We made 3 different meals that we could freeze and eat later:

- Sweet Potato Black Bean Burritos

- Sweet Potato Goat Cheese Quiche

- Artichoke Chicken Lasagna

I am excited to have some new dinners to easily thaw and cook for an easy night after work!   Prepping and cooking all of the food with a friend makes it so much easier and much more fun than doing it alone!
